How fat dissolving injections work: The active ingredient in Belkyra is synthesized deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid occurs naturally in the body and helps break down dietary fat. When injected below the chin it can reduce fat, resulting in a more contoured neck profile and jawline. This is a non surgical alternative for reduction of fat underneath the chin.

It is a prescription only medicine and for best results should be injected by a doctor.

What does treatment involve?

Typically it will take a 15 to 20 minute session in Dr Ciconte’s rooms. Dr Ciconte will administer a series of injections into areas under your chin.

How many treatments will I need?

 Many patients experience a visible improvement of their chin profile in 2-4 treatments. Some patients require up to 6 treatments. Results are maintained for at least 4 years.

Are there any side effects?

As with other injectable treatments, you may experience side effects. Most patients experience mild to moderate pain or discomfort at the time of injecting Belkyra.

Side effects you may notice are bruising, swelling, pain, numbness, redness and tingling.
